Diva's Beautiful Orchestra

Bassist Rob Edgecombe worked in his native New Zealand after completing a jazz degree there in 2002. During that time he played in jazz bands, an original funk/dub/jazz band, an Irish band, a Klezmer band, and a rock/covers band.

He is also a skilled arranger and composer, having worked with both big bands and intermediate sized ensembles. Rob’s strangest assignment was probably playing original live music to accompany a Rugby match as it was being screened live in a movie theatre! He plays both electric double bass and bass guitar for Diva!

Rob has a penchant for funky hats, and even funkier bass guitars. And even though he’s moved to the UK, still wears baggy shorts. You can take the boy out of New Zealand…
